A DETROIT STORY, AN AMERICAN DREAM
Genevieve Peters Scott is a Michigan-born educator, reformer, business leader, and public servant. Raised on Detroit’s Eastside in a working-class family—her dad built Chevy’s after serving our country, and her mom worked at the local diner. Their family of six lived the American Dream; home ownership, safe neighborhoods, good schools and solid jobs.
A TRUE UNIFIER, LEADER AND REFORMER
Genevieve joined the leadership team in Michigan’s third-largest county clerk’s office, where she led bipartisan election integrity efforts, overhauled recruitment and training processes, and built strong collaboration with state, local and township officials. She brought leaders from both parties to the table—forming bipartisan focus groups, clarifying legal standards, and advancing reforms that strengthened public trust in the electoral process. Her mission has always been clear: protect the voice of the people, uphold the rule of law, and ensure the government serves those it represents.

A fearless advocate for educational excellence and American values, Genevieve has spent her entire career on the front lines—starting in the classroom before she launched a transformative education program that restored discipline, accountability, and academic excellence. As a seasoned entrepreneur, Genevieve combined her education expertise with business strategy to impact entire school systems, equipping teachers, empowering students and parents, and delivering lasting results based on character, accountability, and American values.

When government overreach threatened our rights, she stood up to illegal mandates without flinching. All the while, Genevieve built a career grounded in service—as an educator, a business leader, and a public servant—proving that true leadership means showing up, speaking out, and never giving in.

And a mission to ensure that every hardworking Michigander — from the farm fields to the factory floor and everywhere inbetween— knows that they are seen, heard, and respected. Genevieve’s strong faith, love for family, and belief in American freedom have shaped everything she’s done—from the classroom to the business world to advocacy and public service.

Genevieve believes in America. Genevieve believes in Michigan, its goodness, its greatness, and its God-given promise. Genevieve believes in the American Dream — not as a slogan, but as something every citizen should be able to touch with their own two hands. Her deep Michigan roots and unwavering commitment to faith, family, and freedom have shaped her mission: to fight for the values that built this state and nation.
Genevieve and her husband, John, live in Royal Oak with their two rescue cats. They enjoy the simple things in life: reading the Bible, walking in God’s creation, playing pickleball, and spending time with family and friends. Genevieve holds degrees from Western Michigan University and California State University, and earned her international teaching credential in the UK.
